Macedonia is a city in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population in Macedonia was 11,188 at the 2010 census.  According to “Niche”, it’s is one of the best places to live in Ohio. Housing, Good for Families, and Schools were all given A’s or higher.  There is plenty of great retail shopping available, and a fabulous recreation center and many parks throughout.

Macedonia is conveniently located about 26 miles SE of downtown Cleveland and approximately 25 miles north of Akron.

It’s a great time to buy in Macedonia. Home Appreciation is up 5.4% in the last 12 months.  The median home price in Macedonia is $225,100.  Compared to the rest of the country, Macedonia’s cost of living is 7.4% lower than the U.S. average.

Don’t forget to visit the Macedonia Commons.  Conveniently located between Akron and Cleveland.  The shopping and entertainment plaza hosts Burlington Coat Factory, Champs Sports, Home Depot, GNC, Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, and Cinemark 15 movie theater, where you can catch a flick, plus several nearby restaurants.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park –  Hop in the car and explore this fabulous area.  The park is full of native plants and wildlife.   The  Cuyahoga River gives way to deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands. You are welcome to walk or ride the Towpath Trail where you can follow the historic route of the Ohio & Erie Canal.  Cuyahoga Valley National Park is open every day of the year and operates on a seasonal schedule.  Click HERE for more information.

MGM Northfield Park – MGM Northfield Park is a racino in Northfield, Ohio, U.S.A., a community near Macedonia. Northfield Park has more than 200 harness racing nights each year.  There are 5 restaurants to choose from on-site.  Enjoy free concerts from local bands in TAPS Sports Bar every Friday and Saturday night. So be sure to check out their entertainment schedule!

North Chagrin Reservation- The reservation offers outdoor recreation areas and wildlife sanctuaries. The reservation includes a nature center and a nature education building.   Located just a short 30 minute drive from Macedonia, it’s definitely somewhere to spend a few hours!

Looking to play a round of golf?  Located 17 miles east of downtown Cleveland, is the Manakiki Golf Course. The classic Donald Ross design offers a variety of challenges including doglegs, water hazards, up-and-down shots, back-to-back par 5s, short, long, tight, and open holes, and two canyon holes.  Don’t forget to check out the Clubhouse at Manakiki when it’s time to grab a meal.
